Click on the "Video homework" links and do the examples in the video along with the instructor. Write down the examples on paper - show all of your work. Just imagine you are in a classroom and writing what is on the whiteboard.

Make sure to put the video in full screen.

If you are finding it easy you may "race the teacher": complete the examples and fast forward... but please check if your answers match the video as this is the best way I have to help you learn...

Do the assigned homework from the textbook.

Odd # Answers: Make sure to check odd# homework answers in the back of the textbook! If you are using the online book, make sure to watch this video to see how to find homework answers.

You can find the entire textbook online for free here.

Calculators?: You will not be allowed calculators on any supervised tests this term. Please do your homework without a calculator. If you have good mental arithmetic you will find the next math class to be easy! :-)

Here is our first set of textbook homework for the course (pages 7, 8 and 9):

7 - 19 odd, 31 - 45 odd, 67 - 73 odd, 75 - 82 all

(This means do questions 7, 9, 11, ... 19. Then do 31, 33, 35, ...45. Then do 67, 69, 71, 73. Then do 75, 76, 77, 78 ... 82)

Answer Key:

1. 8 ones, 7 tens.

3. 3 ones, 9 tens.

5. 8 ones, 4 tens, 3 hundreds.
